Resources for Schools

We have recently produced two Sticks and Stones schools resource packs – one for Key Stages 1 and 2 and another for  Key Stages 3 and 4

The packs have been designed for use by teachers and contain a variety of useful information, lesson plans and materials to raise awareness of mental health and learning disability stigma for use in personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) and Citizenship lessons:

Aims of the packs are:

  • to introduce young people to a range of issues that people with mental ill-health and learning disabilities have to deal with
  • to examine the words people use to describe people with mental ill-health and learning disabilities and understand why this is wrong
  • to aid teachers in discussing the issues associated with mental health and learning disability stigma.

The packs have been issued to each school in the boroughs of Halton, Knowsley, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan.  If you are a teacher and require any further packs, information or advice, please call us on 01925 664002 or email: communications@5bp.nhs.uk.
